Beachfront Bills Beckons at Ananda Estate - Now Under New Ownership!

Ananda is a Buddhist word meaning “bliss” or “divine joy.” And that’s precisely what guests experience at Ananda Estate, a 4 bedroom, 4.5 bathroom, ultra-luxury Eleuthera beachfront paradise: Pure bliss.

Under new ownership and featuring several upgrades, Ananda is a stunning property, perfectly situated on a typically deserted pink sand beach on prestigious Banks Road - just 2 miles from Governors’ Harbour.

The property consists of a two-bedroom main house and two detached pavilions (all master bedrooms), set around a stately courtyard featuring a 50 x 20-foot oceanfront infinity pool, flanked by beautifully-appointed outdoor furniture, swim-up bar, outdoor kitchen with electric grill, and a 12-foot Zen-inspired, imported Balinese Buddha water fountain for ultimate serenity. Fully-equipped kitchen features top-of-the-line appliances, Master Chef double oven, professional-grade juicer, blender, Nespresso coffee machines, Fortessa dining ware, and hotel grade cutlery. Living & dining areas feature 25-foot vaulted ceilings, Italian designer furniture, and a 65-inch flat screen television. Bathrooms feature Caesarstone walls, Hansgrohe Axor fixtures, and stand-alone tubs carved of Carrara marble.

Several outdoor Sala beds overlooking the beach provide a paradisiacal perch from which to while away the hours.

The story of Ananda's reopening begins with new owners Bruce and Susi, Canadians who first met at a youth summer camp. Fate had other plans, and they parted ways back then, but crossed paths again later in life - just as Bruce, a retired marketing executive, was facing a harrowing health ordeal. Surviving and finding new love was a crossroads Bruce now calls his moment of enlightenment.

“Life is short - so live it,” he reflects.

With renewed life vigor and longing to signify their fresh start, the pair scoured beachfront sales from California to Costa Rica, searching for a slice of paradise. Ultimately, it was Susi, a film producer, who discovered this Bahamian gem, Ananda.

After successfully bidding sight unseen in late 2021 during COVID, they launched a yearlong venture of repairs and luxury upgrades.

"She was a beauty from the beginning,” Bruce said of the estate.

“But it was a sunup-to-sundown labor of love for many months to get her to where she is today - a real showstopper.”

Now, it’s ready for renters!

“Eleuthera is a gorgeous island, and of all the places we've visited internationally, nothing offers the amazingly spectacular scenery and Zen-like feel of Ananda,” Susi said.

“It is truly magical, and we’re honored and excited to share this incredible property with guests and vacationers.”

Ideal for families, couples, friends, privacy cravers, relaxation revelers, and adventure seekers, Ananda has been featured on TMZ (when rapper Ludacris stayed for a stretch), as well as in Life & Style Magazine.

In addition to superb views of pristine pink sand shores and crystalline turquoise waters from nearly every room in Ananda, there’s a broad new deck overlooking the beach, outdoor solar-heated shower, a sports area (perfect for beach badminton, pickleball, volleyball, corn hole, and more), as well as stand up paddle boards and kayaks.

Lounge on the outdoor Sala beds as the sun sets, and enjoy some of the most incredible stargazing on earth - clear of light pollution or any sounds, save the soft steady lullaby of the waves.

“When we purchased Ananda, we thought about changing the name. After all, boaters consider it bad luck not to change the name of your boat,” Bruce said. “But after we really considered the fact that the definition of ‘Ananda’ is 'the highest state of being or the ultimate in happiness,' we kept it because that really feels like the most fitting way to describe it.”
