A U.S. State Department Level 2 Travel Advisory for the Bahamas urges travelers to exercise increased caution due to a surge of violence in certain neighborhoods of Nassau and Freeport. But those are larger cities on bigger islands - and not a reflection of the safety situation in Eleuthera, or even the Bahamas as a whole.
